Description
This twin destination trip by coach to the picturesque Nottinghamshire towns of Newark-on-Trent and Southwell.
Newark is situated on the banks of the River Trent and is steeped in history. The ruins of Newark castle have a unique presence on the character of the town and overlooks the large cobbled market square with a wealth of fine old buildings. Explore the pleasant park area along the riverside walk with a weir or take a look around the Town Hall Museum and Gallery, before transferring to the pretty town of Southwell.
Southwell with its magnificent cathedral, Southwell Minster, boasts one of the finest Norman Naves in Europe and is characterised by its unusual pepper pot towers.
In both towns you’ll find plenty of places for a delicious bite to eat and plenty of antique, vintage and independent shops to browse around.
