The Anderton Boat Lift is a giant three-storey-high iron edifice on the banks of the River Weaver Navigation. Often referred to as one of the ‘seven wonders of the waterways’. It still does what it was designed to do, lifting boats from the River Weaver Navigation into the Trent and Mersey Canal, 50 feet up. This day trip includes a 50 minute boat ride and time to explore the canalside and Visitor Centre. The coffee shop offers refreshments and has a full length glass window with views over-looking this amazing boat lift.
