ROUTE C + R

Join us on a day trip to visit two charming seaside retreats in Suffolk.

Aldeburgh is well-renowned, thanks to its connection with Benjamin Britten.  The seafront of this lovely town where charming pastel-coloured 19th Century seaside villas line the promenade and the the fisherman’s huts along the pebble beach sell their daily catch.  The town famous for its fish and chips has a bustling high street with a mix of independent shops alongside some well-known brands.  After time spent browsing the shops and wandering along the promendade we transfer you to Thorpeness.

Thorpeness is a small coastal village dominated by the Meare, an artificial lake which comprises of many little islands all named by J.M Barrie, author of Peter Pan.   In 1910 Stuart Ogilvie bought the hamlet and set to transform it into a private fantasy holiday village. Today the village is just how Ogilvie envisaged it with pretty mock Tudor houses and the fairy-tale ‘House in the Clouds’, an unusual water tower with a house on top.  A visit to the enchanting Thorpeness is a delighful experience and is definintely not to be missed, once visited you will want to return!
