This day trip takes you to the lovely town of Thirsk, the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales where you will visit the orginal home of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’.  The World of James Herriot Museum is housed in the original home and surgery of Alf Wight, the real James Herriot.  Here you will discover an authentic place where the much loved and popular books and stories were inspired, written and brought to life.  A beautifully preserved 1940s home with consulting rooms, dispensary, living quarters and garden all inviting you to step back in time and discover what life was really like for the rural vet.

With free time to spend the pleasant town of Thirsk in the Vale of Mowbray, with its character and charm including a medieval cobbled market square and traditional shops and cafes, or a short stroll along Cod Beck River which runs through the town centre.
