A visit to Bakewell on the idyllic River Wye is the biggest town in the Peak District National Park, with its mellow stone buildings, a medieval five-arch stone bridge and quaint courtyards. On Mondays there is a bustling outdoor market, take a stroll through the town to discover scenic buildings, pretty streets and a lovely riverside. With plenty of tearooms and cafes to choose from you will be well refreshed during and after browsing the lovely independent shops and market stalls for those special Christmas gifts.
