Whether you enjoy wandering the quaint side streets with their unique and individual shops, strolling along the open parkland alongside the river or wish to soak up more than 800 years of history, where many surviving buildings would have been familiar to Shakespeare in his day, there is much to explore. Shakespeare’s birthplace (admission payable locally) is a great place to start if you want to learn more about the famous poet and playwright.
