Bowood House & Gardens

Categories: ,

Bowood House sits within 100 acres of beautifully landscaped ‘Capability’ Brown Parkland and has been home to the Lansdowne family since 1754.  The house hosts a wealth of unique art and antiques with many historical treasures. Nearly 300 years of amazing artefacts and antiques from the family history are on display.

The grounds and gardens are regarded as being one of the best preserved examples of a ‘Capability’ Brown Parkland. Bowood is also recognised for its award-winning walled garden, an Italian-inspired terrace garden, an ever-changing herbaceous border.  The Woodland Gardens covers over 30 acres, this garden is an oasis of bluebells, azaleas, magnolias, and rhododendrons and is only open for 6 weeks during May and early June.
